PAINTINGS IN THE VILLA, THE VILLA IN THE PAINTINGS

Three canvases painted after Villa Ciao Cocoa, in Liguria — a house without walls, created by Ilona.

A house without walls in Liguria, crystal open to the sky — and a light you’d want to keep for yourself. A triptych after Villa Ciao Cocoa.

Triptych — acrylic on canvas, 3 × (24 × 30 cm), 2026

«LUMIÈRE À TRAVERS LES SIÈCLES»

In this work, the antique figure leaves the museum space to find a new presence within a contemporary interior.
Made in acrylic and metallic leaf (gold leaf) on canvas, the composition sets the matte of the paint against the luminous vibration of the metal. The gilded surface isn’t decorative: it acts as a plane of light, a symbol of time, value and permanence.
The sculptural portrait, rendered in a cool monochrome range, echoes the neoclassical aesthetic — the nobility of proportion, the purity of form and the inner dignity of the subject.
It’s a dialogue between eras:
antique sculpture meets contemporary minimalism,
mineral matter converses with the gleam of metal,
the past inscribes itself in a present-day visual language.
The vertical format reinforces the work’s architectural quality. It reads like a luminous column — an autonomous art object that structures the space around it.
Light Through the Centuries, from the Fusion des époques series, offers a reflection on memory, status and the inner light of the human being.
The classical tradition isn’t reproduced: it’s reinterpreted through a contemporary artistic sensibility.

«Scrooge à l’époque du glamour — sous les étoiles de Van Gogh»

On my canvas — it’s Scrooge.
But this time he’s no longer in his old frock coat, he’s wearing a Louis Vuitton suit. Monograms, shine, status.
And yet, in his eyes, the same certainty…
as if he never really believed the world had changed.
Around him it’s no longer the streets of old London,
but the swirl of Van Gogh’s The Starry Night.
A reality where everything turns, glitters, warps.
Before, he owned the money.
Now the money owns him.
He’s caught between two eras:
a pragmatist in the middle of expressionism,
a collector of figures in a world where feeling is what counts.
And what if, deep down, we’re all a little bit Scrooge?
Hiding our unease behind labels and a calm gaze.

La Mer

My works on the sea are not simple representations of natural landscapes, but deep reflections on the link between the human being, nature and the world around it. In contemporary art, themes tied to the natural elements, to ecology and to the search for harmony with the environment take on a particular resonance. The sea — with its infinite expanses and its changing states — embodies not only the power of nature, but also inner freedom, the desire to explore and to face the unknown.
Through my canvases, I seek to convey not only the visual beauty of this element, but also its emotional depth — as a metaphor for the search for self and the need to belong to something larger.
